The hosts where amazing and the quality of the accomodation was outstanding. The House was perfectly placed and the view was amazing. The room and the bathroom were stunning and you felt very welcomed. We ran out of fuel, and weren’t able to get to the nearest gas station, so the hosts even helped us by giving us some fuel. The breakfast was also awesome and we got to choose what we would like for breakfast and when we Wanted to eat. There was a lot to choose from. The room is very cozy and well equipped, there's everything you need.. Rachael is an awesome person and an even better host. I rarely met someone who was so open and friendly towards me and made me feel right at home. Avoch is an awesome place to stay when visiting the Highlands. I will definitely come back.

    What a beautiful part of Scotland!

    What a beautiful part of Scotland! It was both relaxing and peaceful. There were different things you could do and fantastic places to eat and grab a drink. The dolphin watching was also very fun and different. Crofter’s was one of our favorite food places. Everyone we met were friendly and helpful.

    Lovely little village with beautiful cathedral, shops, cafes, bakeries, butcher etc. Close to neighbouring village of Rosemarkie and beautiful beach and walks. Looks across Moray Firth to Ardersier and Fort George.

    Not the best Closures due to Covid

    Not the best Closures due to Covid Main road noisy and polluted Restaurant noisy opposite Fortress Harbour nice and around Cathedral but otherwise not the best Too far to walk to Canonry Point but by car you face parking charges Not our first visit but last in Fortrose Post Office sells lovely gifts

    Fortrose is a beautiful village with historic buildings and the main attraction is the opportunity to spot dolphins at Chanonry Point. There are pubs and restaurants as well as the beach at Rosemarkie within walking distance of the village.

    We received a warm welcome at the Anderson and throughout the staff were very friendly and efficient. I think the best description of this hotel is quirky. The decor is quaint and a bit tired but on the whole everything works. Breakfast was good but some people may have missed not having cereal or fruit. We ate dinner in the hotel and enjoyed it - the menu is certainly different from what I would have expected in the Highlands but that's not a criticism. The fresh fish and seafood on offer was excellent.

    We loved the location and the house was maintained to a high standard. The hosts were very gracious making sure we had a lovely time. There is a lovely bakery in the town just 5 mins drive away. We also got to see the dolphins do their dance from the famous view point also very close. For commute I will recommend to use the Church street via Fortrose town instead of taking the Knockmuir.
