If you have already been to Framlingham then you won’t need...

If you have already been to Framlingham then you won’t need me to tell you how wonderful this Suffolk town is. If you haven’t been: Go! And make sure you book several days if possible as there is so much to see here and in surrounding towns and villages. The town square is a little gem. The unspoiled streets leading off as you climb toward the awe-inspiring castle are a delight. The large church is beautiful. Collage Mere is an extraordinary survival so close to the centre of the town. The views of the castle from here are the very best.

We visited the castle this time and enjoyed walking around it. We had something to eat in the café there as well. We walked from and to our accommodation which was about 25 minutes long. It was a pleasent experience overall.

Framlingham is a pretty little village with a good selection of independent shops, plus a coop for stocking up on things. There are plenty of places for a relaxing coffee and restaurants for some a bit special. The Castle is great and anyone who is a fan of the BBC light drama "the detectorists" will recognise many of the locations in the village used in the filming of this wonderful series. Overall Framlingham is a great place to stay or just to visit for the day.

I may be a bit biased as I’ve known Framlingham for over 20 years many of it inhabitants too along with its lovely pubs and restaurants. It’s a friendly very place with a lot of history, and the Castle is definitely worth a visit, especially for the part it played in the history of England. I would recommend the Station pub - local lad Ed Sheehan’s favourite pub of all time! Framlingham is entirely walkable with some lovely boutique shops. Further afield there’s some very picturesque villages.

Very pretty town, lovely pubs and shops.

Very pretty town, lovely pubs and shops. Great fish and chip shop there. Framlingham Castle is amazing and well worth visiting. We ate at The Crown pub in the square which was a lovely old pub, serving delicious food.

We went to The Crown Hotel which was very nice.

We went to The Crown Hotel which was very nice. Food lovely and not too crowded. We also made a visit to Woodbridge. The quays were interesting but did not like the town. Very difficult to drive round one way system and parking was very difficult. We also went to nearby Aldeburgh. Parking was impossible. The parking app would not download and machine only took cash. So many people ended up walking in the road. Also no where to park. Snape Maltings were brilliant.

Very nice property attached to the side of the main house. Comfortable lounge with large bedroom and shower room. TV and WiFi good. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate supplied with milk in fridge. Everything very clean and tidy. The cutlery and plates supplied were useful for cold or ready-cooked takeaways. Very quiet, peaceful neighbourhood and only 15-20 minute walk from Framlingham Market Square. Some nice pubs nearby; notably the Railway Inn and Castle Inn for my favourite cask ale. I tend not to eat out but plenty of opportunity to do so.

This was the perfect property for us as a party of 3 adults. Comfy, clean, nice outdoor space for coffee in the morning sunshine. Well-equiped kitchen, and spacious dining room and lounge with very comfortable sofas. Great location for a short walk to the centre of framlingham. Checking in could not have been easier and communication with Clare was clear and straight-forward, and we found the bungalow easily with Clare's written information.

Location was perfect. The staff member on duty at reception on our arrival was very helpful and pointed us to free parking nearby as the hotel car park was full. The room was very comfortable and the fan provided was well used.

Peaceful and relaxing location but close to the facilities of Framlingham so you don't feel isolated. V Good breakfast. Ideal place to stay to explore the wonderful beaches and countryside of Suffolk.
