The bed was comfy, I slept really well. The staff were friendly, helpful and willing. The Eagle and Child is in a brilliant location for bus travel to Blackpool or Lancaster or Preston. The local shops and boutiques are full of local produce.

A real find! Great staff, welcoming & helpful, and positively geared up for dogs too. Garstang - & the Royal Oak - were decked with Remembrance Sunday poppies - many personalised, a very moving sight. Lovely sized room, comfy bed. The evening roasts - we ate a meat, & a vegetarian - are in our top 5 ever, superb, and made even better with Robinsons ales. Same for the included breakfast - ample choice, huge portions, another memorable top-quality meal to set you up for the day. We'll be timing our trips north to be able to stay here from now on.

Fantastic find! Cool wee village within itself along the banks of the canal. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Loads on offer, pub grub, restaurant, ice cream shop etc.

    Garstang is situated in a wonderful area! There are lots of walks and places of interest to visit! I used to live in the area about 30 years ago and was quite disappointed that the centre looks so grotty.. what a shame!

    Beautiful village. Lots of pubs for meals. Friendly natives. Market day on Thursday. Walks along both river and canal. Cheese factory nearby. Royal Oak. Th'owd Tithe Barn. The Velvet Carrot the best coffee, cakes and breakfasts.

    Lovely clean, well cared for town.

    Lovely clean, well cared for town. Locals clearly love and appreciate their town. Great places to eat and drink and particularly enjoyed the heritage plaques - really interesting. Staff in the shops were welcoming and friendly.

    An amazing country hotel in a in peaceful countryside near...

    An amazing country hotel in a in peaceful countryside near to town of Garstang with amenities. Easy to find and well located for M6 motorway. Huge free car park. A hidden gem in Lancashire with friendly and attentive staff and lovely home cooked Lancashire style dinner with a bar that opens out to canopy and golf course views. Local golfers gather outside the bar but friendly to hotel guests. Would recommend for couples visiting family, business or just visiting the area. Easy travel for day trips in area or beyond or exploring Garstang as an area with nearby walking.

    In a previous visit in 2021, we did walk around and discover lovely rural surroundings. From the listing on the breakfast menu, this location is good for walkers and outdoor pursuits.. so ideal for many more than us, just a stop off on a long road trip. The town is compact but has a good feel about it.. especially that it has a number of pubs and other eateries. There is a market on certain days and that gives the whole place a good feel.

    I have never been to Garstang before I was really impressed.

    I have never been to Garstang before I was really impressed. I loved the village with all the independent shops. The canal and the river were very pretty ideal for a walk. We tried a few pubs and they were all excellent - very friendly staff.

    Very friendly staff. The hotel is very central to shops. The room was clean and comfortable with very nice tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Good choice at breakfast and was even served a Sausage for my dog (5 stars from Rosie 🐕)

    A good location for an overnight stay close to M6. Lovely setting. We were able to walk along the canal into Garstang. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal. There was a good selection for breakfast.
