    The property was clean and tidy. We had a lovely chat with the host on arrival and sorted out what we wanted to do that evening. Despite rain we got up early and went for a walk on the road heading toward Goudhurst listening to the birds and watching the rabbits and deer. E then had homemade muesli, and our wonderful cooked breakfast arrived exactly when we asked for it. The bedroom and living area were perfect for our overnight stay before travelling on to Gatwick (40 mins away) the following morning.

    I have stayed in a number of hotels in Kent in recent weeks and The Goudhurst Inn is by far the best so far. The room far exceeds other hotels in terms of quality and comfort. From tea and coffee selection to toiletries, the quality was impressive. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The bathroom very clean, of a high standard and unlike hotel bathrooms filled with natural light. the staff were exceptional and went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable.

    An atmospheric, ancient, but very well appointed pub/hotel. Staff all superbly welcoming and friendly. Dinner menu very varied and an excellent "fish specials list" too. Very smart restaurant on one side of the bar, but same meals in characterful bar too. Many more "Mind Your Head" notices than most hotels................all part of its history Well located to visit mid-Kent and into East Sussex

    The rooms were so spacious and decorated beautifully. The hotel is very charming and you feel really at home. Everything was thought about with a variety of teabags, oat milk and even calming spray in the bathroom. Had everything I needed and more! Staff very friendly and accommodating. I had a great sleep and the location was so beautiful to wake up to in the sunshine. Exceptional value for money!

    It’s character and the staff. A peaceful hotel with lots of history. Location is good for exploring Kent. Restaurant and Bar good as was the included breakfast
