We visited for the 1940's weekend in September.
We visited for the 1940's weekend in September. The huge amount of effort invested by the events volunteers is greatly appreciated. This year it was made harder for them by the inclement weather on day one. However, this did not dampen the visitors enthusiasm and by day two the sun was shining. Can highly recommend the hospitality - especially the tapas bar and pop up coffee shop in the church rooms. Grassington is a lovely village in a great location within the dales. Lots of nice walks from there, especially along the river. It has plenty of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from. Grassington is a beautiful setting in the Yorkshire dales.
Grassington is a beautiful setting in the Yorkshire dales. The village square is idyllic, with various places to eat and drink. Just around the corner is the visitors centre, which leads to the River Wharfe, and Linton Falls. The river has walking routes in both directions, one which goes to Burnsall, a very scenic village. Great place to stay. Lovely location. Down side was no WiFi and tv didn't work. For the price we paid ,I would expect these things to work. We did get a swift response when an email was sent about the problem , but being Saturday night we decided to decline the offer of an engineer as we were tired and didn't want to inconvenience somebody. This was my second visit to Grassington in 2 years.
This was my second visit to Grassington in 2 years. This time, staying in town for a few days, I had the opportunity to really talk to and interact with local residents. I was absolutely stuck by the welcoming spirit of this village. I felt immediately at home and was touched by the kindness of many people. The town is simply beautiful. There was a good range of Beers and lagers + wines etc. The breakfast was really enjoyable, with a good choice to suit different tastes etc. We got parked in the Grassington visitors centre car park, the parking was £8.50 for 48 hours, which was good value.
