We were absolutely stunned to find out that the room service put our hairy coo plush toy to bed when we were away, tucked in nice and cozy, as if it was asleep! :-) This was possibly the nicest and cutest experience with any hotel we've had so far!! Thank you! <3

A fantastic hotel experience. I booked this for us as part of a trip showing my family from overseas the UK. We came here after 2 days in London and it was the perfect way to decompress and relax after a hectic time in the busy capital. When we arrived the scenery was breath-taking and walking through the main lounge with the real fireplace and comfortable, stylish furnishings we knew we made the right choice for a hotel. The rooms we booked were lovely and clean, our room had a beautiful view and the comfiest hotel bed we have slept in. The staff were friendly and approachable, they managed to provide a high end hotel experience without us feeling we were out of place with their friendly attitude. One of the waiting staff even offered to take a group photo of us when she saw my Grandfather attempting to take one which was lovely. The 3 course evening meal was fantastic and well presented and the bar had some lovely drinks options which were added to by the charming pub a 5 minute walk away in the nearby village. We all had a lovely time and I had to drag my husband away so we could check out and explore the Lakes! We are already planning to return and bring my in-laws with us. This is the best hotel I have stayed in so far, huge thanks to all involved.

Staying at Langdale Chase felt like stepping into a fairytale. The unique design made it feel as though we had our very own castle, surrounded by magical gardens and breathtaking views. I truly felt like an aristocratic lady living in a grand estate. The room decor was superb, blending comfort with classic elegance, and the welcome treat was absolutely mouthwatering. A truly unforgettable stay!

    Breathtakingly beautiful!

    Breathtakingly beautiful! A joy to be walking in the hills, enjoying God’s outstanding creation! We stayed at the spectacular New Dungeon Ghyll and from there, we started our first wild camping adventure near Stickle Tarn as a married couple.

    Probably the most scenic part of the Lake District.

    Probably the most scenic part of the Lake District. Plenty of places to stay or eat. The road is quite narrow in places which means it can be slow going at times (especially weekends) . Bus service every 2 hours along the valley. Car Parks a plenty but can fill up very quickly, especially at weekends.

    Was spotless staff were friendly and helpful, with amazing views . Food was good our only problem was on last day breakfast we waited 25 mins and when it did come it was cold the day before was hot and plentiful. This did not spoil our stay at all would definitely recommend this stunning getaway cannot wait to go back

    Beautiful surroundings.

    Beautiful surroundings. An ideal stopover for walking the Cumbria Way. A warm welcome from Finn and Marina in the very comfortable New Dungeon Ghyll hotel with good beer and excellent food. The local National Trust bar called Sticklebarn is next door to the hotel which is warm and inviting and serves refreshments and food until 5:30pm. The choice of real ales is also very good. There is nothing else here except beautiful scenery, sheep and walks. It has everything one needs.

    Superb location. My room was super quiet, for a change with a hotel room! I had dinner at the hotel, in the walker's bar, outside actually as the September weather was perfect. Very tasty pie, mash and veg. Excellent real ales, and then you've also the Stickle Barn bar nextdoor for real ales too

    The bar next-door to the hotel is nice. Hotel reception staff very kind, considerate and helpful. Breakfast was good, in particular the coffee, but room could be brighter or use bar area. Good selection of teas and coffee bags in rooms. Very nice views and gardens.

    Amazing location for exploring the langdales. Starting the walk from the hotel itself is a big bonus for longer walks and it meant we weren't worried about parking. Room and bathroom were clean. Very little noise overnight, even on a bank holiday!
