Location was perfect for exploring Hadrians Wall and Vindolanda. Checkin was easy and the manager even assisted with carrying my parents bags upstairs. Our family room was large and comfortable (travelled with adult son) and my parents room was changed to be closer to ours, which was much appreciated. Off street parking was also provided. We dined at Zaki indian restaurant, food and service was excellent. Breakfast exceeded expectations with a variety of cereals, fruits and a full cooked breakfast. I would highly recommend staying at the Centre of Britain Hotel.

Clean well appointed rooms with all the facilities required. Hosts were helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and knew how to get the best out of a visit to Hadrians Wall. They even prepared picnic style lunches.

Fabulous cottage attached to pub. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay including a welcome box of ‘goodies’. Pub next door was lovely and food was amazing. We were allowed to take our meals into the cottage as the pub does not allow dogs.

    Really handy for Hadrian's Wall, accessible by train and with a decent local bus service. This is a small town and busy in the summer, quiet in the winter, set in gorgeous countryside all year round. We had good food at the Manor House Inn. The local landscape and history are obviously the big draws here, if you can walk or cycle it's perfect country for it.

    Lovely little town that is the centre of Britain.

    Lovely little town that is the centre of Britain. Full of character, great mix of small private businesses and larger chains. Excellent restaurants and pubs. Stay here to explore the width of Britain at it's narrowest part.

    Haltwhistle was a nice town with enough to see and do.

    Haltwhistle was a nice town with enough to see and do. We enjoyed our walk out to Hadrians Wall, despite the lack of sign-posting for walkers in town. It was a shame that shops in town appeared to close early in the afternoon, however being a small town it was to be expected

    Haltwhistle is a lovely little town with loads of independent shops as well as a chemist, Co-op and Sainsburys. There are loads of places to eat out in Haltwhistle, we had a lovely evening meal at the Manor House Hotel and Restaurant, with excellent service and delicious food. We also had breakfast at Bonnie's which was really good. People are very friendly and helpful in the town. Don't forget to get the infamous photo at the centre of Great Britain!

    Haltwhistle was a great location to access Hadrians wall and...

    Haltwhistle was a great location to access Hadrians wall and the Roman forts , we were there on May bank holiday Sunday and almost all the town was shut up except a couple of restaurants and a co op shop. On BH Monday there was one pub serving food and they had shut the kitchen by 7.15 pm having run out of food. I found the town deserted which was a shame.We ate in Jethros cafe on the Sunday night which was great , lovely food and waitresses , can recommend that cafe.

    Facilities in the room were excellent, great shower, Alexa. Extremely clean and everything looked new and well maintained. Quiet, even on a Saturday night, stayed in room 3. Parking easy, no problem outside, unrestricted after 6pm and all day Sunday. The car park in Sainsbury’s was a 2 minute walk if necessary. Great location, places to eat nearby, we booked as we stayed on a Saturday night. Sunday many places do not serve food in the evening, Centre of Britain hotel did snd was excellent.

    Kate and Ian could not do enough for two tiered and wet cyclists. Welcomed us with a couple of beers and home made cake. Also provided drying facilities for our wet clothes. Best ever breakfast I've had in any hotel or BB. Stay made special due to the friendly attitude from Ian and Kate 10 out of 10!

    We were very satisfied with the stay. The location was perfect for us - close to the station and with a nice route to Hadrian's Wall. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, food in the hotel's restaurant and the atmosphere of the place.
