The space we had was very large for the price! It was decorated beautifully and felt very light and airy. We had everything we needed for a comfortable nights stay. It was also exceptionally clean! The thoughtful extras we had to for example, bathrobes, slippers, choice of shampoos/conditioners, blankets, an umbrella, cereal and fresh milk for breakfast etc were amazing. We got the appt on an offer for £52…. just so cheap for what it is! We would absolutely be wiling to pay between £80-£90 per night as it is so worth that!! Thanks again Maddy!

I like Hastings - its an ideal location I feel for a short stay - eg 3 nights. There are a few historical/heritage sites to visit in/around/just outside its town itself. Its clean - along with its beaches too - albeit they are not sandy but soft pebbly ... Can highly recommend a small family seafront family-run restaurant called La Delizia for an evening - by day, its a great eatery/bistro. As it is very small, I would suggest making a reservation for dinner - the food is superb and sells Italian produce too. Great for gifting. Taxis within the area - best to use 247 Transport Solutions who are very reliable. Don't use Uber as not so frequent at all - especially late evenings. My thoughts are that they work for local concerns and Uber jobs they maybe offered are actioned thereafter, so wait time maybe lengthy !

Hastings town and surrounding areas has everything - old and new town with excellent shops, food shops and bars in all areas. Plenty to do and arty things to see. Friendly locals always willing to stop for a chat, and a super helpful library when I enquired about a local church. Streets and pavements were kept clean with plenty of litter bins around. Sadly, as with all towns, Hastings seems to have its fair share of rough sleepers.

Hastings is a great place to visit, and a gentle stroll through the old town is lovely. Battle Abbey is close by for a visit and easy to get to on the bus. The Jerwood Gallery, the smuggler and fishing museum, are close by. My favourite thing, though, has to be the fantastic walks along the coast. It is also a great place for running on the seafront.

We parked the car near the hotel with no parking charges and used the frequent bus service along the sea front from Hastings to Eastbourne to get to the places we wanted to visit in Hastings and Bexhill. On day 3 we used the car to get to Battle and Bodiam Castle in the same day, which is possible on the bus but timings are awkward. It meant we could also visit Rye Harbour as well. Overall a very enjoyable stay for us.

Stayed there 3 times previously with my wife and with wife and kids to attend shows / concerts at the White Rock Theatre and previous stays have been fun. Because of the RMT Rail Strike we had to drive to Hastings on this occasion instead of getting a train but the car park at Carlisle Parade was secure and reasonably price and literally a few steps from the Landsdowne Hotel. The location of the Hotel is great - close to al the amenities and the Pier but away from the main crowds. Staff were nice when checking in and out

Alexanders is on the seafront of Hastings. It is within easy (though hilly) walk of the train/bus station. It is situated between the peer and the old town. I had made a request for a room with a bath and a very friendly staff member had specially given me one. She also arranged for me to self-check-in, which was extremely useful and appreciated. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Glad to have stayed there. Hastings was a good base for visiting towns along the coast such as Rye.

The hotel is very atmospheric, a real "grande dame" of the Victorian era, with a dramatic double staircase and lots of period features, including old black and white photographs showing St Leonards and Hastings in its hey day as a glamourous seaside resort for the Victorian and Edwardian beau monde. She is a glorious old beauty!
