The apartment we stayed in was absolutely stunning. The spa bath is huge. The bed i wanted to take home. But the best thing was the little details. When we got there there was a hamper on the table with chocolate and fruit. We opened the fridge and there was 2 beers. 4 cans of pop, 4 bottles of water, milk and a bottle of prosecco. There was even a umbrella at the front door. The host have thought about everything Safe to say we will defo be back

The hotel was wonderful. Beautiful and very quiet location with access right out of the front door and up over the hills( behind the church) with my dog. The room was immaculate and well stocked with tea, coffee and even juice in a small fridge! It was a bright, spacious and beautifully decorated room, with a couch and views out into Hawkshead The bed was comfortable and the shower was wonderful. I highly recommend the Hive.

Hawkshead is a lovely village, with enough to do without being busy or over-commercial.All the places we visited were friendly, good value and authentic. Walks around the village are lovely, covering a range of abilities. Hawkshead also has historical importance, with its links to Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.

Hawkshead is a tranquil little village, it has quite a few bed and breakfast and pubs. There is nowhere better to stay than this little gem, if you’re just going for a meal there are plenty of places to go. Even if not staying there it’s well worth the visit. The trip across the ferry makes the holiday.

We stayed for 4 nights which allowed us to explore Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside and Hardnott pass/Roman fort which was stunning. We could have easily stayed another day or two, but 4 days and nights means we're keen for more another time. Hawkshead itself is a perfect spot as a base for exploring further afield in the lakes. It is a relatively quiet village after the tourists go home, but there are two lovely pubs which give just the right amount of life for us. If you're looking for a livelier evening scene, Ambleside ticks those boxes.
