The front desk was terrible and gave us a downgrade on our room and then told us there was nothing that could be done due to being sold out and because we used Bookings.com. We complained, asked for the manager and showed the pictures on a Superior room from their website and on our booking. He moved us to a family room, but it had 2 double beds and two chairs seating vs a Superior room has a king bed and a settee and a desk. Henley is a beautiful town, with very friendly locals, and fantastic bars and restaurants (plus a Wetherspoons if that's what you're after!) Scenic and interesting place to visit with a variety of shops, mainly upmarket, and numerous venues at which to eat and or drink including a very large Wetherspoons. There are several charity shops. Lots of activities on the riverside including those for children. High street parking was paid for by using an app but there are other car parks including the one by the rowing museum. Henley on Thames was a lovely town with plenty of unique shops and a good variety of restaurants and places to have refreshments with everything that we needed within walking distance. Bistro at the Boathouse and the Angel on the Bridge are two places I would strongly recommend for dining as they both serve excellent food at reasonable prices. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather which made the boat trip, with Hobbs, and the walk along the riverside exceptional but it would still be a lovely thing to do and a great place to go at any time of year.Guest review byTracyUnited Kingdom

The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet, so I had a good nights sleep. The bathroom had an excellent shower. The full english breakfast which was included in the price again was exellent. Also there was a kitchen facility for guests to cook a meal. Natalie and Ray were very friendly and even offered us lifts into Henley. From the moment we walked into the reception area we were greeted by Irina who was very friendly and hospitable. Our accommodation was located outside of the main hotel but only a short walk away. Our room was lovely ,just what we expected. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful so tranquil. We also had an amazing breakfast. The staff in the restaurant were polite & courteous.
