Excellent venue and facilities. Very poor staff attitudes towards my food allergies and my attempts to have a bill corrected. I complained to the company CEO and received a formal apology. I would not recommend the restaurant if you have a medical problem such as coeliac or dairy problems. This is a fact-based assessment. Booking.com customers were treated like they were unwelcome.
Booking.com customers were treated like they were unwelcome. The booking.com fee was £175.00 but it was an extra £35.00 to check in before 5pm (4pm). Booking.com customers are not allowed to be in the hotel between 10am and 5pm or you have to pay £55.00 to be on the premises. £175.00 gets a continental breakfast and a hot breakfast is extra. I booked a double bed and got two single beds. I was put in the room which is the furthest room from reception and was warned by the member of staff that the room is a very long walk. Booking.com should inform their customers that Champneys have these additional costs and restriction levied against booking.com customers. I have chronic coeliac disease and the disposition and listening faculties of staff were poor. I elected to avoid eating at the venue for the rest of my time at the venue. I complained to the CEO of the hotel chain. I have received a formal apology and the venue says individuals are being retrained.
