A really comfortable little cottage, very clean, with everything you need for self-catering. Little notes everywhere to help you find and use things. The night lights are a fab idea. Chocolates, coffee, tea etc and even toiletries in case you forget something. Thank you!

The staff were excellent from arriving to leaving. The room was well appointed, ample parking, great food and in a quiet out of the way location. There is no lift however staff assisted with carrying the suitcases upstairs.

Travelling with a group of 10 can be a challenge when it comes to finding a place that suits everyone—but this place absolutely delivered. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a great stay. The house had everything we needed: proper beds for everyone, a spacious dining area, and a cozy lounge for relaxing together. After a delicious meal cooked in the well-equipped kitchen, we had a fun ping pong tournament and ended the evening soaking in the jacuzzi under the stars. We’re definitely coming back!

The location was excellent and the house is beautiful. Everything you need is provided and the decorations are lovely. The beds are so comfortable and the location quiet. The views are beautiful from all windows and there is a large garden. Being from Australia, the street access feels narrow but actually there is ample space and easy to park. The host provided lots of information and was easily contactable if required. The print outs of walks in the area was a bonus. We enjoyed the easy walk around Digley reservoir. The food store just round the corner was an added bonus - the pork pies are excellent. Will definitely return if I’m visiting that part of the world again - it was a wonderful stay.

    We were staying in Honley just a few miles from Holmfirth. Lovely place ,friendly locals . Great for dog walking . Beautiful scenery ,local walks around Honley were good . Taylor’s food store was amazing ,good quality food and great choice . Very hardworking staff too

    Everything close together, didn't have to walk far to be where you wanted to be. People are really friendly and we got to know some locals. Most people there love dogs and will stop you, so they can say hello to your dog. Beautiful buildings and trees everywhere. Loads of places to eat and drink. We loved the wrinkled stocking cafe, breakfast was amazing! The Holmfirth Tavern have food offers on a Monday and Wednesday, we had the steak for £10 each which was lovely. Holmfirth coffee shop, (near the Co-Op) lovely food, coffee and cakes! We met a local called Ken in there, he was such a lovely man and we bumped into him a few times afterwards in the town. The Archive, also did great coffees. Market on a Thursday in the Co-op car park and sells fresh fruit, only on in the morning though, we got there too late. Of course if you like Last of the Summer Wine, there are places to visit such as Sid's cafe, (right in the centre of town) Nora Batty's steps up to her cottage, the museum just under the Wrinkled stocking cafe, (check opening times on the door).

    Holmfirth is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing long weekend away for rest and recuperation. The centre of Holmfirth is a pleasant 25 minute walk from the Pickled Pheasant, with exceptional views of the beautiful countryside.

    We chose to stay in Holmfirth as we have family in the area.

    We chose to stay in Holmfirth as we have family in the area. There are lots of eating and drinking places, the Co-op is great for food and there's a riverside walk if the pavements get too busy. There's a wide variety of places to drive to, the Peak District is on the doorstep, but you could also catch a bus to Wakefield or Meadow Hall for a day's shopping.

    Everyone I met in Holmfirth was very friendly. The architecture and scenery are beautiful. I had breakfast at The Wrinkled Stocking, shopped at the Fair Trader, had tea at Sid’s Cafe and purchased chocolates at Chox, and had dinner and breakfast at my hotel, Old Bridge Inn. I’d say the area might be difficult to navigate for those with mobility issues. I was traveling alone and am glad I didn’t bring my husband as he uses a walker and he would never have been able to keep his balance on the uneven surfaces and he would not have been able to climb any stairs or street curbs.

    It’s not in the centre of Holmfirth but just outside. 1/2 mile from the vineyards. Easy access to everything. The views were stunning. The cottage was amazing. Small and compact but a very Well equipped kitchen. Nice little touches left by the host and nothing too much trouble. Best nights sleep in ages! Only went for one night but we will definitely go back.

    Hosts were great and Kate even drove us down to Holmfirth to get dinner as we arrived late after being stuck in traffic. Place was nice and quiet and bedroom not too hot so was able to sleep. (most hotels are too hot and often with traffic noise) Nice to have bread, butter, milk and marmalade provided for our breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay.

    A real gem indeed: a listed weaver’s cottage like the one my West Riding forebears would have lived in but beautifully presented and comfortable with all mod cons. A bit of a walk into Holmfirth if you don’t want to use the car but we managed it comfortably, and the town is now full of cafes, bookshops abd indies.
