A jewel with historic buildings and charming streets, Inverness is surrounded by a typical Scottish Highland landscape. It is located 10 km from Loch Ness, along the mouth of the Ness River and the Moray Firth coast. It is regarded as the northernmost city in the United Kingdom, and capital of the Highlands.

Your museum was excellent. Unfortunately some sites were closed. The pubs were great fun. The food was good, the people were friendly, and the music was great. Inverness is a fantastic city, compact and easy to walk around with a good selection of shops. Everyone is welcoming. I'd recommend the Ness Walk and Islands. There are some great restaurants, that do early bird offers. I also did a Loch Ness day tour which was good. Unfortunately i didn't have time to do any other tours. As a solo traveller I felt quite safe walking around Inverness. The Castle was still being restored, but that's on my to do list next time.Guest review byWendyUnited Kingdom
