    Small beautiful market town within a superb country setting back dropped by the lake district fells. Traditional market place with live market on Thursdays. Full range of restaurants from A La Carte to take aways - Indian is particularly good! Easy to walk about the town and local area with river Lune just out of the town - Devils Bridge a very popular tourist attraction.

    Kirkby Lonsdale is bustling, full of shops, accommodation of all kinds and very characterful with lots of history including famous writers, at least one composer, etc. The church is worth a visit and the graveyard is full of interesting gravestones, if you enjoy that kind of thing. The river is beautiful including Devil's Bridge. Lots of motorbikers visit enmasse there. You do need to have access to spending money though and expect to pay tourist prices everywhere. There is a good supermarket, Booths, that we discovered, just off the main street.

    Cracking wee town with enough choice of shopping eating and drinking. Close enough to The Lakes; Lancashire; Yorkshire & The Dale's to access loads of days out. The nearby White Scar Caves are great and The Forbidden Corner was amazing - even my grumpy 16yo son loved it.

    It is a beautiful place to visit and stay with lots to keep you busy during the evenings as well as interesting things both locally and not too far away to visit during the day. An excellent place to use either as a base or to stay and chill out

    KL is a well kept market town, with interesting buildings and a good range of high quality shops/eating venues catering for a wide range of needs, situated in rolling countryside away from (but adjacent to) the main tourist centres of the South Lakes.

    Kirkby is a great place to visit - a lovely town to wander and surrounded by brilliant views and countryside to explore. Walks along the river or further afield and plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area. Good selection of places to eat from cafes to pubs - good to see the town recovering from its recent fire.
