Well what can I say an absolute little jewel of a town.

Well what can I say an absolute little jewel of a town. Plenty to see from the town square and high street. Down to the river walks, The Lady Chapel, The Castle. River boats (but only till October) Mother Shipton's Cave. Got to mention the very quaint and beautiful railway station. It is quite hilly but with patience and care it can be got around we are in our late 60's and we managed. Watch out for the blue plaques on the historical buildings reading them is a real eye opener. Plenty of pubs to choose from but the Worlds End Pub has to be our favourite. The food there was very reasonably priced. Portion size is very generous and well presented and the staff are lovely nice place to take a break.

We were surprised at the history of Knaresborugh and found the buildings charming. The walk by the river is pleasant, there are small independent shops, cafes and pubs. We visited Newby Hall and Harlow Carr Gardens which are very near.

Knaresborough is a lovely little town with a fabulous iconic view from the castle over to the viaduct. Beautiful walk at the side of the River Nidd to St James' Retail Park and visit the Watermill Cafe on the edge of the river.

Great place to visit on short stay.

Great place to visit on short stay. Mother Shiptons Cave was a disappointment though as we were expecting a cave you could walk in but this is definitely not the case though so bear that in mind as £15.00 per adult is expensive. Town is lovely and picturesque.

    We love it.

We love it. Small independent shops, good quality, fantastic butchers (there are 3!), coffee shops (recommend No. 13), super knitting shop (Knitting Pretty), I could go on! Drakes for fish and chips, sit down or take away, is 11/10.

Nice and peaceful little town with lovely view from the castle ruins. Great thrift shops. Charming little library at the town centre. Friendly people in the town who taught us the game of bowling on the lawn and let us play with them.

The hotel has a relaxed, friendly, welcoming ambience. The rooms are comfortable and cosy. A bonus for my partner and me is the hotel's dog-friendly policy. My dog, Poppy, is fussed over when she stays here; we love it too! The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. The hotel is situated at a fantastic site with a handsome frontage. At Christmas, it is cosy, festive and welcoming. I love it and can't wait to return. This was my fourth stay at the Knaresborough Inn.

The location of the hotel was great. Obviously very handy for the train. Walking distance to the castle, the town centre, mother shiptons cave and boat hire. We took a train to Harrogate for the day (7 mins). Went to the Turkish baths and had lunch at Betty's tearoom.

Teardrop cottage is in a great location for a visit to Knaresborough. Located at river level just near the viaduct and a short (but steep) walk up a nearby stairway to the town center and old castle area.
