Well what can I say an absolute little jewel of a town.
Well what can I say an absolute little jewel of a town. Plenty to see from the town square and high street. Down to the river walks, The Lady Chapel, The Castle. River boats (but only till October) Mother Shipton's Cave. Got to mention the very quaint and beautiful railway station. It is quite hilly but with patience and care it can be got around we are in our late 60's and we managed. Watch out for the blue plaques on the historical buildings reading them is a real eye opener. Plenty of pubs to choose from but the Worlds End Pub has to be our favourite. The food there was very reasonably priced. Great place to visit on short stay.
Great place to visit on short stay. Mother Shiptons Cave was a disappointment though as we were expecting a cave you could walk in but this is definitely not the case though so bear that in mind as £15.00 per adult is expensive. Loved our stay with our pooch - The lodge has a fenced secure area for peace of mind. Easy drive of many North Yorkshire attractions Blue Bell pub has excellent food and is an easy 20 minute walk away, although it is over fields and along a bridle path so could get very wet and muddy in inclement weather Fabulous views over countryside and faces west so sunsets are spectacular. Lovely picturesque walk by the the River Nidd which takes about 15 minutes to walk into knaresborough town centre or few minutes by car. Worth doing the walk as its lovely.
