First full day we went to Lanark, very good for shops, Then we drove up towards Hamilton and visited Chatelherault Country Park and House which was very good and free. it also had a nice café. 2nd Day we went to New Lanark Mills visitor attraction where we spent an absolute great day. there were a 11 different places to explore but by far the best was the Annie Mcleod Experience. Excellent place to stay for a couple of days or as an overnight stay when travelling further into Scotland . It was a busy hotel with lots of weddings etc. This however did not interfere with our stay. Soundproofing in the hotel was good and we were given a room that was quiet. Not much to see around Larkhall but The Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel are nearby and both are worth a visit. Staff are all exceptionally friendly yet professional. Meals we have had in the restaurant have been good. This time as only there overnight just had an afternoon tea and a breakfast. I have stayed here often. It is a good hotel. This time, though, after I booked on Friday, I was told they were not doing meals - that was Saturday. I went ahead as I couldn't think of an alternative at such short notice and I had to be in the area. I was disappointed that when I asked if breakfast was included it turned out not to be the case.
