This place exceeded my expectations! The apartment was super spacious, comfy, and stylish. Many details contribute to a special atmosphere: vintage furniture, huge windows, chandeliers, a fireplace, and many more. The kitchen is fully equipped, so if you're planning a long stay, there is everything you need to make it comfy. The location is just near the castle, adding extra value to this place.     Staff unfriendly but not as unfriendly as the locals. They do not like visitors. Room was aweful, electrical sockets located where you had to crawl around on the floor to use them. Only 1 out of 2 worked. No supplied toiletries, shower was pathetic no pressure and impossible to regulate temp. Food quality was good.

    We really liked the remote village location.

    We really liked the remote village location. Yet it was just 30 min to Edinburgh by bus. We were able to leave the car there and it was safe. We also liked the feel of Lasswade. There were farms dotted about and the overall feel was one of community and abundance.

    Fantastic for distance to Edinburgh.

    Fantastic for distance to Edinburgh. Bus stop right outside with bus every 25 minutes into town centre. Great choice for breakfast, fantastic value for money. Ability to access rooms after pub closes through fire exit at rear of pub.

    Lasswade suited our purpose as it was more or less...

    Lasswade suited our purpose as it was more or less equidistant from Loanhead and Hillend ski centre. By the way, we recommend Hillend as well. Easy travel to Edinburgh and also to the coast so that we could do long walks.

    Brilliant location for visiting Edinburgh. An overnight stay at the Laird and Dog proved to be the best for location, cleanliness and comfort combined with all day great food, friendly staff and atmosphere.

    We had a very comfortable stay of 3 nights.

    We had a very comfortable stay of 3 nights. The staff were obliging and welcoming. The room was quiet, a good size and had a pleasant aspect. The facilities were clean and convenient. The breakfasts were generous, warm and tasty. The inn was cozy and had character. We would recommend it to anyone looking for value and in convenient reach of Edinburgh. It was great value for money.

    Very nice quiet location with a lovely view. Very cosy, clean. Parking. Wifi. All good. 5 minute drive to the Original Roslin Hotel for the half hourly bus into Edinburgh city centre. Lovely walks in the Glen on the doorstep.
