Loved our time in Laxton exceptionally pretty village with the DOVECOT INN serving really good food.We did miss a shop but Southwell a short drive away made up for it with an amazing Deli both eat-in or takeout and artisan bakeries. Just a small village, but very pretty and well kept.
Just a small village, but very pretty and well kept. There are info boards all around regarding the past, mainly referring to the strip farming process. We were made to feel very welcome. The historic nature of the Laxton village was fascinating and Jess helped us discover the background to unique traditional "Open Field" faming in the area. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. The food was very good and great value too. We got excellent service from the start to the finish of our stay.
