Lostwithiel is a lovely, old stannary town with historic buildings, a number of good restaurants/pubs/take-aways, a grocery co-op, fascinating museum, small shops, and cafes. There is a lovely walk along the river to a beautiful, old stone bridge. Park in the free parking lot. The Lostwithiel Festival in May is great fun with lots of good food and drink. We loved this Bed and Breakfast. It was top notch, yet comfortable and welcoming. There were six of us in our group and everyone felt the same way. We ate dinner at the Old Globe Inn. Lots of shops and restaurant very quiet over Christmas and facilities shut. However, before and after Christmas hols very interesting with lots of restaurants and little shops. Church offered Midnight Mass. We booked for Duchy of Cornwall restaurant for all our lunches, which was fabulous as well as shop full of Bungalow items and garden plants and pots etc Christmas gifts galore! . Booked for Christmas Lunch at Michell's in Polperro, lovely Pate and Christmas pudding was light and lovely, this restaurant was only 20 mins away by car with car parking.
