This must be first choice for travellers. My flights late night OR take off early morning. Night arrival and bouncy blond receptionist nothing too much. Freezing outside. Hot tomato soup quickly warmed me up. While everything is 'basic', its all there. Electric appliances, special (and extra if required) bedding. King size bath tub to submerge into, and soak away the grime of a hard days work in London. 10 minutes walk (briskly) to airport, but by the time to go you are well fortified with a good solid breakfast. If the eggs are 'cool' and have stood too long, ask for fresh. This is a budget hotel not the Ritz but they DO try to give you the service of a 5* hotel. Its only a tiny reception and half the day no one is checking in so if you arrive and there's a queue of 5 or more, chill, drop your luggage, have a beer (or a tomato soup) 😄 you won't find a better home from home good times and difficult times. Thank you Ibis.

FAQs about hotels in Luton

A Bedfordshire Getaway

Between 2 of England’s principal motorways, the M1 and A1(M), Luton is best known as an arrival point for cheap flights to London. A low cost carrier hub, Luton Airport is home to the unmistakable orange headquarters of Easyjet.

Booking.com offers hotels on the airport grounds, as well as accommodations including guesthouses in the town nearby, many of which offer free parking. But that isn't the only reason to visit.

Luton once had an important role in hat-making, an industry which has given its name to the Hat Factory performing arts venue. The town’s huge carnival is based in leafy Wardown Park, home of Luton Museum and Art Gallery.

Local crafts from yesteryear are displayed in the discovery center at Stockwood Park. Also here is one of the golf courses surrounding the town, and just east is a spa and swimming pool at the Luton Hoo country house hotel. Another golf course borders the Dunstable Downs to the west, and a third is by Whipsnade Zoo, the largest in the UK.

Luton shopping options include The Mall (previously the Arndale Centre), and the nearby station offers direct trains to London St. Pancras. Available restaurants cover everything from Indian to Caribbean and Malaysian.

The place is very clean, the breakfast is pretty good considering the charge of the overnight stay, the host is very responsive and the instruction given is clear. It is very much like an Airbnb place being managed very well. The only concern is the distance to the accommodation and we walked nearly 30 minutes.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the airport terminal. The room with an open sofa bed was quite small but the double was fine. Nowhere to put any clothing except hanging. They served a cold breakfast for travelers who had early flights. I would stay there again if I have a Luton layover.

    Luton is pretty depressing.

Luton is pretty depressing. The town centre has very little to it and feels intimidating. I was alone with my three year old and despite this we were approached several times. One woman even started shouting and swearing at us when we didn’t give her money. Town centre is run down and limited nice restaurant/cafe options. The library has a bouncer, which probably tells you all you need to know. However there are plenty of green spaces kust of of town and loads of great little market towns accessible by bus and train (Hitchin, Harpenden etc). The plus point of Luton is that it’s extremely well connected by train and bus. The airport is also very close and not expensive to reach by taxi.

I went for family. luton is in south bedfordshire. it is largest town and suffers a bit of a decline. Near London espesc by train, St Albans and some villages (home of John Bunyan) and Dunstable (priory Church with extensive history: henry 1, 2, 8th). Easy to get to from M1. Near whipsnade zoo and woburn, and will be near new Universal Studios when it is built

Room and hotel overall was lovely and clean, staff were very attentive and friendly the whole way through, you pay for parking but it’s fairly cheap and you pay as you check in which I like, vending machines in the lobby were very modern and cool, could get so many things like flowers and toiletries including snacks etc. it’s also very close to the airport which made it much better as we had an early flight the next morning.

If you're looking for the most basic place to put your head down for a few hours, then this is the place. Rooms are plane, with a bed, TV and stuff to make coffee or tea ( though not every room you'll get channels!). Owner is a nice young man. Would use again just for the fact so cheap if you just need a bed to put head down for a few hours. Also it's a very short taxi ride from Luton Airport!
