There are loads of cafés and places to eat. The White Rabbit is a nice pub with an extensive menu and reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly. Lyndhurst was a pretty town but the traffic was very busy so didn’t stop but it looked a vibrant little town and will explore again one day . We enjoyed the forest and seeing the ponies and donkeys who are in no doubt who’s in charge of the roads but it was wonderful to see . Never got a chance to see the town of Lyndhurst and surrounding area We drove down from Warwickshire and it was just a stopgap and unpleasant rest place where we stayed, before we caught the ferry from Lymington to the isle of Wight. We cannot recommend Lyndhurst House enough!
We cannot recommend Lyndhurst House enough! It is such a beautiful house with charming and unique rooms. It felt very homely, and our hosts, Alison and Nick, were incredibly kind and helpful, recommending great places to eat and even suggesting a route for one of our days. The breakfast was delicious and very filling - definitely worth it! We enjoyed freshly cooked dishes, as well as fresh fruit, yoghurt, and the usual coffee and tea. We stayed on the upper floor and had the best night’s sleep, as it was very quiet there. Everything was spotless. Lovely little town with great antique shops, quirky cafes and great pubs. Worth a visit as very central to the New Forest.
