We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bedford Hotel. We went for the Lytham Festival and the hotel was in a great location not far from the beach and a 5 min drive from the festival. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and well equipped with a large wardrobe and plenty of hangers. Iron and ironing board, hair dryer, tea and coffee. There were toiletries in the bathroom soap shampoo and shower gel. A slight improvement would be to add a small shelf in the shower as there isn't anywhere to put the shampoo whilst washing your hair which proved quite difficult. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and a good choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt, fresh fruit juice and a full English all included in the price. I would definitely stay again.

Great variety of shops, cafes, restaurants & bars.

Great variety of shops, cafes, restaurants & bars. We had two evenings meals at the Trevino Lounge. The first outside & the second indoors. The Thai curry was great, as was the Tapas & being a coeliac, I was impressed to be given the most extensive gluten free menu to date. The GF warm chocolate brownie & ice cream was delicious. They also had a twin cocktail offer. We caught the bus into St Annes square on Saturday & did some shopping & had a coffee & cake break, before getting the bus back to Lytham. We only had a couple of minutes wait for the bus, on both journeys. The morning we departed, we had a lovely cooked breakfast at restaurant called Zest.

Lytham is nicer more quieter for us, but if you want the beach which is lovely ( my dog loved it) you need St Annes. Restaurants not all dog friendly and finish serving at 8.00pm.we went hungry the first night because dogs weren't accepted Hotel finished by the time we got back !

Lytham St Annes is quieter than Blackpool however has a St Anne's pier with games, arcades, rides for the children and we even as OAP have fun on the penny-pushing machines! next to the pier is a Fish & Chip shop and another shop selling gifts etc. It has a long sandy beach with crazy golf and manicured gardens with a "bandstand" pool for the children when on hot days. There is a children's train that travels round the gardens on the prom and there is a Sea Life centre. There is also pub for refreshments and selling good pub grub. A little walk into the town centre from the Pier brings you to more shops, pubs, eateries and convenience stores for all your needs, if self-catering etc. Lytham is all on the flat so no hidden hills, or masses of steps, ideal for buggies or wheelchairs. There is also plenty of wide pavements to walk the dog and they can also go on the beach. We enjoy going to Lytham to get away from life's stresses and breathe the sea air. Would recommend Lytham to all and we will definitely be back!

2 places for the price of 1.

2 places for the price of 1. Stayed in St Annes, also got No 11 bus into Lytham. Easy peasy ! Friday night we ate in the Toby Carvery on the sea front. Always a good bet. The reason for our visit was the 1940's Festival in Lytham. Terrific. Great walk back to St Annes in the early evening watching the lovely sunset.

Beautifully decorated rooms and hotel in a great location with free parking. The gardens across the road are stunning and a lovely walk around. Lytham high street is only 5 minutes away and it’s hard to believe Blackpool is the next town over when you’re in a stunning place like this. The pool and jacuzzi area is lovely too. This is probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in the UK for the price. Truly stunning and clean, which to say its a dog friendly hotel it’s one of the cleanest I’ve ever been in!
