The room at the hotel was stylish, comfortable, and infused with a unique charm. The attention to detail was evident, with subtle nods to the world of beer in the decor. The mini-fridge stocked with a selection of beers was a delightful touch, allowing me to indulge in my favorite brews at my convenience (There's also a mini-beer-fridge in the shower!!!). There's a guitar to play and a classic Pathéphone.

Loved this funky, trendy historic refurbished property … so much character in this comfy suite, ‘ticked all the boxes’ for our three night stay. Reception staff Lucy was so welcoming & hospitable. Well equipped kitchenette/top line appliances etc (no oven just microwave). Powerful shower, comfy beds, etc. Great location for proximity to Coach/train stations & central areas, etc

Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

Manchester wouldn't be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

My first visit to Manchester.

My first visit to Manchester. The impression I got is that it is big. I really liked the metro. It made navigating my way round town so much easier and quicker. Nice to find some high end retailers outwith the M25.

Plenty to see and do with great transport links.

Plenty to see and do with great transport links. There are 2 free city bus routes available outside the station for you to have an idea of places to visit. the stop is at the station exit where the very moving victory over Blindness statues are located. Metros can take you to the Trafford centre for the shops, from inside piccadilly station. Check out family day travel cards if you have family with you.

Manchester has fallen victim to the plague of destruction...

Manchester has fallen victim to the plague of destruction that is sweeping through the UK currently under a Government that seems unwilling to stop the rot. I've been coming to the UK every year since 2003 and it's so sad to see this once beautiful and proud nation converted into Europes toilet. The only people that would disagree with that statement are the people who are destroying it. Britain and the UK , only exist as a memory on a distant page of a history book somewhere on a dusty shelf of a Library that nobody wants to know about.

The staff here are super friendly and helpful, the room and the pool area were clean, the sauna and steam room actually worked and were nice and hot (i've been to plenty of more expensive hotels where this is not the case). It was amazing value for money for it's location, easy to access city centre. Plus the money you spend supports Manchester YHA. Would definitely stay again.
