As a Central-European the building looked historicaly British. (The interior and exterior too.) The room was clean. Once we opened the window we had perfect airflow. The dinner in the restaurant was great. We had the best fish and chips there.

This hotel excellently combines the traditional English tradition in its natural habitat with friendly, open, helpful staff. The rooms is spacious, overlooking wonderful nature and located within wood and grass. The hotel restaurant is excellent and prices are decent. Breakfast is great.

The quite area and the flexibility(Late arrival) and friendlieness of the staff. The Pod-room, and the shower- and bathroom is also very comfortable, clean and very nice, inclusive veranda. Everything(beautyfull villages, great landscape, gardens and interesting historical locations of british art(e.g.Victoria Wolf)) in the area is good reachable.

Lovely accommodation. Everything you could possibly need provided for in the kitchen and bathroom. Lovely surprise to find bread, scones, fresh milk and various other lovely treats on our arrival. As well as an excellent selection of teas and coffees. We only stayed for one night but would have happily stayed longer! Excellent instructions before arrival on how to find and access the accommodation as well as how to contact the owners if necessary. However, we had no need to do so as everything was perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The breakfast was wonderful, plentiful, and lots of choice in a lovely sunroom. The hotel is set in a grand, picturesque location surrounded by fields within which is a lake, Beds are very comfortable with French doors opening onto a patio, looking across the fields. An 14th century church is in walking distance, and pleasant walks in the nearby wooded areas. Lovely part of the world, real England.

    The lack of maintenance generally, broken radiator covers, equipment not working and not repaired/replaced when reported, threadbare carpet, bathroom fans and towel rail, mould and dirt in the nonventilated bathroòm, damaged wallpaper, hole in the walk, standard of redecoration very poor and long overdue. Breakfast adequate but the duty chef, 21/10/23. Needs to be retrained, the standard of the food at dinner on 20th was not good with one of our party having to wait ages for his meal. At the moment October 2023 this hotel cannot be regarded as adequate as its 4 star listing and after spending over£400 for a 2 night stay with dinner 1 night I feel let down especially as it was a treat for my wife's birthday. I have lodged a complaint, time will tell!

    I loved being able to stay in a historic coaching inn in a lovely setting in the centre of the village of Maresfield. The room was enormous and very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The place was beautifully quiet apart from the creaking of floorboards but that was to be expected in a lovely heritage building.

    The hotel was in a great location for us to stay for a family wedding. The rooms we had, 3 in the main house, were spotlessly clean and spacious. The beds were comfy. Most staff were happy and helpful, especially the evening staff in the bar. Excellent parking.
