It's a great town with many interesting shops and places to eat and drink. It has a good vibe about the place. We found an excellent French cafe/restaurant which was very good . Marlborough is charming.
Marlborough is charming. A good choice of places to eat for both full meals and for coffee & cake. I enjoyed browsing and buying from the large selection of quality shops - especially ladies' wear, brands not seen on my local high street but usually found in bigger cities. The architecture of the old Coaching Inns & shop fronts, makes Marlborough a unique & a lovely place to stay & an after-dinner stroll. Parking was available to us as we arrived on a Saturday evening and the town centre parking charges stop at 6pm and don't apply on Sunday. The room was clean and well prepared. As the pub is in a very old building the floor was far from level, which added to the charm. However, the stairs were narrow and steep - so would be a struggle for some.
