Loved this wee room above an ancient pub (1600?). Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in. I'm pretty well of average height & had to dip my head to get through doorways, what fun! If you was after a classic old old pub the Rose & Crown is a top pick in a divine little village. The room was so comfortable & the shower was excellent. Oh, did I mention the complimentary full English Breakfast?

Our pod was so cute, warm & welcoming for our w.e break! It had everything we needed & the beds & bedding were so snug! We also had our own immaculate bathroom a short stroll away. The site and utilities are very well organised. Tim, the owner was very friendly and hospitable. Lynda, the campsite manager was equally lovely. Lovely B&B and the perfect base to explore Kent and East Sussex. The house itself is beautitul (even better than in the pictures!) and it is located in a peaceful natural environment. You have everything that you need, including a delicious breakfast. Most importantly, Annie and Alex are wonderful hosts. They made us feel at home!

    I went to school at mayfield College about a mile away from the village for 6 years in te early 1960's. I don't think the village has changed much in that time except there is no railway line thanks to Dr. Beeching.

    We stayed in Mayfield for one night and used it as base to visit the area. The food is good quality and not excessively priced. There was great musical entertainment in the bar that night too. It is an old Inn so expect the quirks that go with that.
