One of the best hotels ever! It’s conveniently located near the motorway. Rooms are big, beds are super comfortable and large, all is spotless. There’s also a lovely fitness room. Breakfast is delicious (some of the best pastries ever). It’s REALLY pet friendly. Most of all, I have to say, we loved the staff. Each of them was incredibly and sincerely kind with us and our dog. The guys at the reception: amazing and it was a pleasure to have a chat with. The true gentleman in the breakfast room always smiling and supportive. It all felt like home. Way to go, guys! You made our whole stay simply beautiful. Thanks to you all!

Everything was super! The rooms were enormous, the staff helped store our luggage all day & the breakfast buffet was great. Very comfy beds & all newly renovated/built. Top location if you’re driving to Newbury or Basingstoke & Kingsclere by foot.

    Perfect fo visiting our family in Thatcham for early Xmas. Easy to find the hotel, lots of parking, very quiet bedrooms and lovely ambience in the Berkshire Arms itself for dining. Shopping in Newbury was excellent. Will visit Blenheim and the Rainforest when we next visit in the summer.

    We should have been asked if either of us would have...

    We should have been asked if either of us would have difficulty in climbing stairs and walking long distances to our room. We should have been told that the fixed radiator did not work and that the second, portable type, was in the room for that reason. The window in the room needed to be draught proofed. We were there on a very cold night.

    Well situated for cycling along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

    Well situated for cycling along the Kennet and Avon Canal. Good rail links both west and east. Attractive countryside away from the A4, e.g. back roads to Hungerford which we cycled. Newbury Centre very pretty. Best approached by bike rather than taking car into the town.

    The hotel is beautiful, decorated with good taste, clean, comfortable and very welcoming; the location is very good - close to London, Oxford and Cotswold. The staff is very friendly and helpful and our breakfast was just right; I am looking forward to going back and try their dinner/ pub grub; wholeheartedly recommend it; it appears to also be dog friendly; the perfect retreat for a countryside trip.

    Everything was fantastic! The staff are all so chatty and friendly, the room was better than an average hotel, comfy and modern. Comfy bed and really nice ensuite. We had lunch in the pub and it was great, and the patio area was large and pleasant. Breakfast was amazing too.

    Simon and Terri were great hosts during our stay, beautiful garden to relax in during stay, Simon also very helpful with getting around the area, nothing was too much trouble. Our breakfast was delicious before we left Midgham.

    It was clean , friendly and the food was very nice . We got there early and couldn't check in any earlier than 2pm but the receptionist let us leave our bags at the hotel while we went to the races .
