The outside of the Hotel was a bit deceiving it looked just like any other 3 star hotel BUT when you walk inside it is very very welcoming, cosy, clean, comfortable, spaceous, and beautifully decorated in traditional Scottish style. Our beds were very comfortable we all slept very well, no noise no disturbance very friendly housekeepers but what we loved the most was the breakfast and the friendly helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was more than I expected and you were full up by the time you finished, very clean very good quality food, any amount of options. The staff there could not do enough for us they worked so hard (we were at a wedding) and they still were kind and helpful right into the night having served us food early that same day I just cannot fault the staff and want to thank them for their hospitality. We loved Montrose too and we would love to come back, it's a perfect venue for a wedding, the wedding venue looked so cute and had doors that lead put onto a beautifully kept garden (Well done gardeners), the receptionist were super helpful always friendly, I highly recommend this hotel I would go as far to say it was the best hotel experience we as a family have ever had and I think it's because it's very down to earth, family orientated and non pretentious, love it.

    The local people were very friendly and very helpful when we asking for directions. The coffee house was very nice, we went a couple of times, the food was great and home baking and atmosphere, A long time time ago the premises were once Stables. Theres also plenty of buses if you dont have a car.

    We were located near the town and beach and also a lovely park which was lovely to walk around, the museum was 5 minutes away which we visited it was very informative, there are many different shops in town and supermarkets nearby, and a choice of cafes, takeaways etc which we used, there are many places of history, we will be going back again in the future. Montrose is free parking in the High street and it is very easy to get around montrose.

    I cant review Montrose, I just got there when it was dark, then next morning got picked up from the hotel, to collect a car then started the 315 mile drive home, so I never got chance to see Montrose.

    Unfortunately, Montrose is struggling because of the downturn in the oil industry. It has a number of empty shops and the main street area is a bit scruffy. This is in marked contrast to the residential areas, which are all smart, clean and tidy. There are also park areas giving a lot of greenery within the town. The surrounding area is interesting. Arbroath and Stonehaven were worth a visit and Dunnottar Castle is a must. The Air Museum in Montrose is also a couple of hours well, spent.

    The Auld Kirk, now Trinity of Montrose, is an exceptional place of worship. It includes two (2) balconies for large crowds. The minister who preached on July 6, 2025 did an wonderful job The RAF museum and the Montrose Museum are both worthy of a visit. The beach is, actually, outstanding‼️ There is a men’s better clothing store with a red-painted front where the quality is obvious and the owner a gentleman.

    Beautiful house. The hosts had thought of everything, so there were breakfast pots and a selection of herbs and spices if we had wanted to cook. The décor is charming and added to the fun of the place. Easy parking on street nearby. Quiet location but just a short walk to the centre of Montrose for restaurants, pubs etc. There's also a convenience store within 100 yrds or so.

    Hotel spotless . Lovely staff . Good location . Room we had could do with having black out blinds as room curtains were too light so did not sleep well.TV only worked on certain channels. Unable to open window so room was a bit stuffy . A fan would have been helpful.

    Super cozy apartment, clean and with all you need for a comfortable stay in Montrose. The house is in the very centre of the city and also the sea is reachable in 2 min of car. Martin is very friendly, we really appreciated his hospitality.
