The coffee house was very nice, we went a couple of times, the food was great and home baking and atmosphere, A long time time ago the premises were once Stables. We were located near the town and beach and also a lovely park which was lovely to walk around, the museum was 5 minutes away which we visited it was very informative, there are many different shops in town and supermarkets nearby, and a choice of cafes, takeaways etc which we used, there are many places of history, we will be going back again in the future. Unfortunately, Montrose is struggling because of the downturn in the oil industry. It has a number of empty shops and the main street area is a bit scruffy. This is in marked contrast to the residential areas, which are all smart, clean and tidy. There are also park areas giving a lot of greenery within the town. The surrounding area is interesting. Arbroath and Stonehaven were worth a visit and Dunnottar Castle is a must. The Air Museum in Montrose is also a couple of hours well, spent.Guest review byPhilipUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The Auld Kirk, now Trinity of Montrose, is an exceptional place of worship. It includes two (2) balconies for large crowds. The minister who preached on July 6, 2025 did an wonderful job The RAF museum and the Montrose Museum are both worthy of a visit. On our way down from Aberdeen, we stopped at St Cyrus just north of Montrose. It is a beautiful spot with a nature reserve with trails through the dunes to the beach and a more inland trail passed an old Kirk yard. Montrose downtown felt a little tired, a little gritty. But it has a lot going for it. We went and saw a movie at the Montrose Playhouse. We walked the beach at Montrose and had a lovely meal at the Pavillion cafe there.Guest review byJoyCanada
