Moreton on marsh is a beautiful town.
Moreton on marsh is a beautiful town. There’s a market there on Tuesdays. Great places to eat gorgeous fish and chip bar. The black bear Inn fantastic food. Bellini Italian restaurant fantastic. Stay away from the Thai restaurant (SIAM COTTAGE THAI) cold food which we waited 1 hr and 15 minutes for. Service below poor. Plus if you order soft drinks (J2O) they share the bottle between 2 glasses and charge for 2. It is a lovely little town in the Northern Region of the Cotswolds and has a direct train connection to London Paddington Station (1hr 42Min). Nice place ruined by appalling bus service, appreciate it was bank holiday but it is a tourist place and a bus every two hours is not good enough. Waited 30 minutes for bus and when eventually arrived drove straight past as it was full. Ended up spending £30 on a taxi for an eight mile journey.Guest review byMcDonnell - 10.0

We stayed one night in Moreton in Marsh before visiting family in Cheltenham. It was perfect. Before arriving in Moreton we visited Hidcote National Trust. We had a pleasant wander up and down the main road before dinner. There were plenty of nice pubs and restaurants. We had a wonderful meal at Bellini's Italian Restaurant. The High Street was great - quintessential English village.
The High Street was great - quintessential English village. Lots of restaurants and shops. Close to the main train station, as well as local transport (be careful the bus times are very limited, often only once every two hours, so you need to plan properly!). The room I stayed in was small but comfortable, with tea and coffee and even a small fridge, which I found really helpful. The shared bathroom facilities were sparkling and well cared for. The shower was lovely. The staff were helpful and responsive, even when I was a bit dense about things. Exceptionally clean and comfortable, a charming authentic cotswolds cottage located 50 yards from the town centre. Close enough to walk to local restaurants, but nice and quiet as not on the high street. The cottage is well equipped, couldn't think of anything that is not provided for. The rooms are fairly basic, (think Travelodge/older Premier Inns) but clean, comfortable and have everything you'd need for a few days away. excellent price for the location.
