Gem of a small town with lots of old buildings Lots of pubs and independent shops and a market on Wednesday Please check opening times of the above as they are a bit odd For example the butcher cheese and pie shop all open at 6.30 and close at 3.30! also the pubs are not open all day

Much Wenlock is a small town with an interesting history...

Much Wenlock is a small town with an interesting history connected with the foundation of the British Olympic Association, plus the beautiful medieval buildings. The Museum is well worth a visit. The individual shops offer quality goods with the Market and the Butcher selling local produce. Highly recommend The Talbot Inn for food and accommodation. There are several car parks, all charging different rates!

A pretty market town with a wealth of history.

A pretty market town with a wealth of history. Holy Trinity church is worth a visit. We didn't visit the priory - just a pile of stones, really, though it will undoubtedly be of interest to many - particularly English heritage members :) The Museum is not open on Wednesdays - we visited on a Wednesday LOL. We stayed overnight at The Talbot Inn on the High Street. We ate our evening meal there, too. A good selection of beers on tap, and a decent menu - both in its variety and price.

Interesting little shops. Very friendly place, everyone chats to you. Plenty of history to enjoy and lots of information about local walks. Lots of nearby places worth a visit . Food excellent at The Talbot.

This is a lovely village, steeped in history.

This is a lovely village, steeped in history. There are some lovely old buildings, a great pub, The Fox, and probably more. We found a 6 mile walk from The Fox which was varied and reasonably strenuous and the OS map suggest several other to try. The Shropshire hills are quiet and dramatic and well worth exploring.
