We were actually leaving very early the next morning, so wouldn't make the breakfast. However our wonderful host put together a take away breakfast for us and left it the fridge for us to take the next morning! Just amazing and very thoughful

No to bad but can be much better,noisy very early in the morning i don't expect that toilets are communal no private like you saying on booking system, toilets and showers quite dirty around the corners skirtinboards and all the pipes coverede on dust Luke like never been wiped

This cottage was beautiful, decorated with a mixture of old and modern. It was exceptionally clean and no comfort was spared. The cottage was fully heated on arrival and you also had the choice of more heat if you wished. There were plenty of towels, and really comfy beds. There are 2 bathrooms downstairs and a toilet and sink upstairs. Both bedrooms were very spacious. There was also a fully heated and very clean hot tub ready to use during anytime of the stay. The cottage is great for dogs, as it is easy to clean and there is a fenced out door space for them and a lovely walk through fields to the river Severn, to the front left of the cottage. There is also the added bonus of The Hub being a stones throw away, which has a store and a cafe - which was very friendly and had a good selection of food including. Veggie breakfast. Highly recommended.

    The people in Newent were really friendly and helpful.

    The people in Newent were really friendly and helpful. We shopped at the Co-op and got some ready meals from the Cook range - very useful on our first night as some restaurants were closed on a Tuesday. The local deli had a lovely range of food and we enjoyed a quick half in the pub before going to our accommodation . Will definitely be returning to Newent and looking forward to exploring the local area more .

    As I arrived at night, I would recommend that all visitors...

    As I arrived at night, I would recommend that all visitors ask for directions as it was not easy to find in the dark. There was no illuminated sign on the road and no brown signs either, although there were plenty of signs for other properties in the area. I suggest asking the Council for a brown sign.

    Great location for walking in the Forest of Dean or along...

    Great location for walking in the Forest of Dean or along the River Wye. Lovely forest trail starting from Symonds Yat, all marked out. Also enjoyed a river boat ride in this area. Recommend a tour of Westons Cider, with samples to try at the end! Excellent restaurant at Westons, Scrumpys. Newent is a few minutes by car from the Golf Club, so convenient for shopping.

    Comfortable room, relaxing stay. I have stayed in 3 budget hotels for work in the Gloucester area over the last three weeks and this one is the best so far. Would have liked to give the breakfast a try, it looks to be very good from the pictures, but had to be away at 7am and breakfast not served until 8am. Also appreciated the parking on site.
