FAQs about hotels in Nottingham

Legendary City of Robin Hood

Famous for its association with Robin Hood, Nottingham is in the very heart of England. The outlaw’s legend lives on, with many city streets and buildings named after him and his Merry Men. A Robin Hood statue sits at the foot of Nottingham Castle, on a small hill with historic pubs built into it. Also cut into the rock are visitable caves extending under the city.

The Old Market Square is the largest in the UK and becomes a city beach in the summer, with rides and a small pool. Permanent fixtures are the impressive Council House with its Exchange Arcade shops, and the several Nottingham hotels with parking in the surrounding area.

During the 19th century, Nottingham was an important lace-making centre and many Victorian warehouses and buildings remain in the Lace Market area. Neighbouring Hockley is home to the National Ice Centre and independent shops, while the biggest shopping centres are Broadmarsh and the Victoria Centre.

In the western suburbs, by Nottingham University, Wollaton Park surrounds an Elizabethan stately home, while east of Trent Bridge cricket ground is the National Water Sports Centre in Holme Pierrepont. Sherwood Forest, Robin’s stomping ground, is near Mansfield, while East Midlands Airport is south-west of Long Eaton.

The town is fine, better than I thought. Lots of diff cultures ad diff types of food. City centre is easy and handy and walkable from where we stayed, both occasions... But we only went re student life associations. Pages on social media show it off proudly and lots to do with free activities. Victoria shopping centre is grand also

We live in the South East.

We live in the South East. This was a three night "add on" to a trip to visit family in the West Midlands, As such we found Nottingham a good place to visit and a useful base for a trip to nearly towns I(Newark and Lincoln). The deer in Wollaton Park were good to watch (we saw over 80 spread through the huge park) We would recommend Nottingham as a good place to include in combination with other stops but probably not as a single destination,

Never visited another city with so many speed cameras (about 1 every 50 yards) and so few signs telling you the speed limit - clearly a money making exercise! Spent our time in nearby Southwell which is charming rather than Nottingham

A great location on the edge of the city centre lots to see and do. Parking was on site with the hotel providing a discount ticket for guests. The bar area was great to catch up with family and friends who I hadn't seen for many years. Being able to walk into the city and show my family places I grew up around was fantastic. Staff were veryhelpful replacing a faulty cooling fan.

We've stayed at this hotel numerous times and it's always been a pleasant experience. The staff are very helpful and attentive, the rooms are always spacious and clean, and it's in the perfect place if you're attending an event at the Motorpoint Arena, which is what our group were doing during our stay, as well as being just a stones throw away from the city centre.

Great location on the university campus. Convenient for bus and tram to city centre. The hotel staff were lovely - friendly, professional and helpful. Lounge, bar and restaurant were a strong feature of the hotel - spacious and comfortable. Food was excellent. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
