Having stayed in a large chain hotel in Newbury only the night before my stay. The words that come to mind is chalk and cheese. The staff at the Beach were excellent polite well trained and looked to enjoy their jobs. The polar opposite to the night before. The staff was rude and unhelpful when I called to asked for an hour later checkin due to delays of our ferrycrossing. I called at 18:00 about the delay to organise checking between 22-23:00 in stead of the standard 22:00. They put me on hold, left me for 15 min silence and broke the line. After calling over 10 times without answer they picked up and hung up directly. How rude! We were left with no option but to book a different hotel last minute to prevent sleeping in the car with 5 adults.Guest review byRoelNetherlands
