I went to Ramsbury for a family funeral. I never knew The Bell provided accommodation before, and its location was just perfect. The twin bedroom was nicely decorated, tidy and spotless. Although the restuarant is downstairs, one hardly heard any noise at all. The shower was strong and hot, the amenties were in order, the bed was very comfortable. I had a very good sleep. The continental breakfast was good.

When the day approached that we were staying at the Green Dragon in Marlborough, I read the emails carefully and was a little concerned about no parking on the premises, sloping floors, low ceilings and steep stairs. The truth of the matter was, parking is available out the front of the premises between certain hours free of charge..ie at night when we arrived. The stair case was small and easy to climb. The low ceilings and sloping floors added to the character and experience. The food was top quality. The room was beautifully decorated, the beds were very comfortable, the en-suite was convenient and clean and the windows overlooking the High Street were easy to open. My only negative comment would be the flower boxes in the windows. The plants were dead and spider webs everywhere. That could be looked after better, but other than that one little thing which doesn't affect your stay, it was one of the best stays we have had on our UK holiday.

The love and effort from Katie and her family is obvious and much appreciated. Very modern, comfortable and spacious. Even had a ninja in the kitchen. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch! Jacuzzi and shower was amazing! Katie also offers Many different types of health and beauty treatments in her studio at very reasonable prices! Despite being in a village (5mins from Avebury!), we were lucky to have a good pub opposite and a Very good italian restaurant just a few minutes walk away. Highly recommend. Enjoy x

From the fresh-baked cake with our tea at check-in to the overnight oats with shredded farm-grown apples at breakfast, Overtown Manor is delicious. It is also comfortable - the bed, the sheets, the black-out curtains- as well as warm in all senses, from the fire in the lounge to the 5-star, unfakeable hospitality from Nancy and Charlotte. A true country manor house just 15 minutes and another century from Swindon train station (and 15 minutes and another few millennia from Avebury), Overtown is the type of secret that I don’t want to share for fear it will be booked next time I’m near.
