Excellent hotel. Friendly helpful staff with top-notch customer service skills. Good sized and very clean en suite rooms. Breakfast & evening meals were 10/10. The staff at the Shap Wells Hotel went above and beyond to help us continue on our Coast to Coast adventure despite some serious setbacks on our part. The location is fabulous, the staff friendly and helpful, and the accommodations historic and lovely – a wonderful place to stay.

It was perfect for what we wanted to do. It was just off M6 with all access to Windermere, Scotland and Keswick. Not many grocery stores or eateries to choose from in Tebay, so make sure you pick something up. Quaint little village. The host provided a little basket of breakfast items to start us off- very kind

    Orton hall was absolutely beautiful as was the Rochester Wing. It was lovely staying in this historic building. The apartment had everything you would need. Parking at the front of building too. Instructions on how to get in to the property we're clear. Would definitely come back again.

    Lovely hotel/ pub in a beautiful village very close to the motorway- although it felt like a million miles from the noise and traffic. A perfect stopover, a great find. Friendly helpful staff too.
