We LOVED everything! The staff was VERY friendly. The food was FANTASTIC. The pub was GREAT FUN. And the waterfalls were amazing. The bed was soft but not too soft.

The location was perfect, private and peaceful. The pod had everything we needed and the hosts went above and beyond , even leaving us cake and milk and explaining everything. The hottub and firepit made it even better.

Beautiful location, quirky little property. Loved the personal touches around the place, such as old photos and the history of the cottage. Everything was thought of. There was information of nearby attractions and a book Maggie wrote about the Starlings. We visited the starlings on Aberystwyth pier and we also went to Devils bridge waterfalls and watched the Red Kites being fed at Bwlch Nant yr Arian-2pm in the winter. We had bad weather on New Year but we felt really cosy in the cottage with the fireplace. Such a lovely trip.

    A very nice location with great views.

    A very nice location with great views. It is out in the countryside and offers tranquility and peace and an ideal quiet getaway. We travelled by car that will help very much and there is s convenient petrol station just down the road that's very handy especially when exploring the area.

    Small village nestled in a valley. Bus stop on main road. Cambrian Way passes through village with access to the beautiful Pumlumon Fach and Fawr with some great views towards Nant y Moch reservoir and beyond in a clear day. A 5km walk away via Banc Creignant Mawr woods is the Nant y Arian visitor centre and feeding site for Red Kites well worth a visit (2pm winter, 3pm summer feeding times). Local pub The George Barrow does very good meals and is run by lovely and friendly people. The Devil's Bridge is approximately 10km hike over Cambrian Way or a short drive away.

    11 miles from Aberystwyth which is pretty well a straight run so staying here was an excellent base. we priced up hotels in Aberystwyth and not only were they more expensive but the reviews were quite poor. very happy that we stayed in Ponterwyd.

    A great traditional hotel in a rural location near Devil's bridge and on the Glyndwr Way. The staff were were friendly, professional and helpful. The food for dinner and breakfast was very good. We were walking the Glyndwr Way and the hotel provided a great overnight stay with a comfortable room, nice little bar (with a pool table and dart board) and some welcome tasty food. Although we didn't use the outside space (due to rain), the hotel has an attractive small beer garden with some fantastic views on the hills.

    This is a great, family run hotel and we are very happy we found it. All the staff were very friendly (and funny), the evening meal and breakfast were superb, the real ale was great and the log fire in the bar made it an extremely comfortable evening with the locals. Our room was located at the back of the hotel so was very quiet and had a lovely mountain view. We could just hear the waterfall at the back of the garden. They had great facilities for mountain biking, lock up and drying room. Perfect!

    The George Borrow Hotel was easy to find, ample off road parking. We were met by a very helpful lady and she explained everything to us clearly and plesently. Our room was nice and clean with all services as advertised. The food was very nice and the whole experience felt very homely. We would certainly go again.

    An ideal stopover for our motorbike tour of mid Wales and the Cambrian Mountains. Friendly family-run business, about 12 miles from Aberystwyth. Some decent beer at the bar. Good breakfast. Motorbikes can be locked in the hotel garage overnight. Nice view over a gorge from the rear garden.
