As I grew up there I can't quite see it as a holiday place. However it has pleasant countryside round it. for car travellers it is close to Lough Neagh and the City of Armagh an the countryside round it. There are good restaurants and pleasant coffee shops. We only stayed in Portadown because it was convenient, Daughter had a singing exam and we were heading to Banbridge the next day, but we had a very enjoyable walk through the town, browsing in the shops, we ate in Greggs which was lovely and the staff were very kind. I was visiting relatives of my grandparents who left Portadown for America in 1865. We had wonderful reunions and I was able to meet new members of the family. The town looked great. The place is easy to find and within easy walking distance of centre of Portadown, and also right by large retail outlets. I really enjoyed being able to walk beside the beautiful Bann within 5 minutes of the front door. The room is super clean and up to spec.
