I am forever searching exceptional places to stay.where the owner are présent. Art House was a fabulous spot to enjoy the art works of this talented couple,stroll in the pretty gardens and relax in the generous bedroom.Breakfast was a feast of delicious croissants and seasinal fruit.Alex and Christine are delightful hosts who generously share their home bursting with beautiful paintings and sculpture ,surrounded luxuriant plants. I hope to return .

Friendly welcome we were then taken to our room and we were both well pleased with it,had everything to hand,we then returned downstairs had a drink at the bar then ordered a meal .Food was great and decided to stay with a couple more drinks.After a comfortable night went down and enjoyed the full cooked breakfast,please thank your staff . Lovely relaxed place, great friendly staff and everything was arranged including dinner booking when we arrived. Food was just what was needed and great value, beer was just right as well in front of the fire after dinner, proper breakfast in the morning.

Staff were friendly and helpful, accommodating an early check in for one of our group and a late arrival for another. Rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed, food in the restaurant was very nice and location was central to all we needed. Would definitely recommend the Castle Inn if you are visiting Usk.

Everything was fresh and new, the view across the fields was amazing. The little kitchen was fabulous and a little fridge was handy. The bread and butter plus Welsh Cakes was a lovely treat. Real coffee and a cafeteria was also provided. The area was pretty and our little dog enjoyed watching the world go by through the low window. Watching the horse across the road getting out to bed was nice, the chirping of birds and the calling of sheep was calming and enjoyable.

    Raglan has one of the most impressive castles in the UK, but...

    Raglan has one of the most impressive castles in the UK, but the little town’s parish Church is also worth a look. The area generally is excellent for walking: just a little further west around Abergavenny are a number of excellent Hill walks.

    Ooops, forgot to say in my previous review which is worth a read before this one... The Beaufort has the very best beds we have slept in for many moons!! So comfortable; deep proper mattresses with good quality bed linen. Towels were also good quality, clean, mark free and thick.

    Very cosy , homey and rustic authentic medieval cottage. The kitchen is warm and homey as well. Set in the countryside. With outside sunny garden and private eating area, with a pond nearby. It's off the beaten track, but close enough to explore other areas of Wales on day trips, and a stone's throw away from Raglan Castle.

    The building is incredible, such a tastefully and beautifully decorated house. Its near to Abergavenny and Raglan, the breakfast (no cooked breakfasts) is also very good with plenty of yoghurts and home made jams, hot croissants and pastries, breads and honey, tea and coffee and cakes.... ample.

    A truly unique and beautiful property full of character and charm. Very peaceful location with lovely gardens and dark skies. Very short drive to Raglan and not far from Monmouth so was a good base for our holiday travels in the area.
