This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. I just needed a place to stay for one night close to the airport. This place fit the bill and was very charming and comfortable as well. The room was small but very comfortable. The hotel is in a small village with its own pub and restaurant. It sits on a canal which provided an opportunity for a beautiful walk in the evening. Very nice!

Room was a nice size for a day or two but no longer. Very quiet , bed was very comfortable, shower was nice and warm. liked the auto light if you had to get up in the middle of the night. didn't have breakfast as had a very early start. Within walking distance of Airport 10 minutes.

Everyone was so accommodating and helpful. The staff made me feel very welcomed. The staff at the restaurant and bar on site, were also very friendly and helpful. Food and drinks were wonderful.

Hotel is located relatively close to the Airport but is only relatively convenient for those who travel by car although there are several buses available due to the hotel being located at Heriott Watt campus on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Check staff were quick and efficient with check in and out. Car park had ample spaces and was not full during the duration of our stay. The room was spacious and had modern furnishings including the bathroom although it should be noted the bathroom is not isolated from the room i.e. glass partition had partial see through areas and door does not seal off sound. There is a spacious restaurant/bar which we did not use but saw several guests enjoying.

Newly renovated. Cosy pub feel. Had a nice meal - good pub grub but with some unusual twists. Particularly liked the skewers with choice of salads. Definitely recommend.

The hotel is far enough that you can stay away from the busy center but, with the bus stop right in front of the hotel, you can easily access the city center. The room was comfortable and the bathroom very nice. I'm often concerned with older buildings that the bathroom will be bad but it was remodeled and very practical.

    Not much in Ratho, the canal is a particular favourite as lots of activity and it’s quite picturesque. Easy access to Edinburgh scenery is fabulous and if it’s a quiet time you want then this is the place to go.
