    Everything in our apartment was just superb,the view was stunning, could have used binoculars if they were in the room,so peaceful and everything all around you for shops, restaurants and walks,was spreading my husband's ashes on my grandfathers grave,had a superb long weekend with my mother, daughter and grandson, thank you Lexington appartments, will certainly recommend

    There is so much to see and do with something for everyone...

    There is so much to see and do with something for everyone to enjoy. We did a lot of walking. We went to Rothesay Castle, St Blane's Chapel and the caves at Dunagoil, all worth a visit. Bute Museum is a must see with some amazing displays and Gary who is so helpful. A walk up Canada Hill was good but difficult to find.

    Rothesay is special to us as is my husband,s birthplace...

    Rothesay is special to us as is my husband,s birthplace which he left as a boy to come to England. But even without this nostalgia trip, Bute is a wonderful island, with beautiful natural scenery, great walks and woodland trails. We spent a lot of time beachcombing along the shore, collecting shells and lovely stones to bring home. Lovely variety of food to be had in Rothesay and nearby places. Rothesay has some big hills but views from the top are spectacular if you can make it- walking or by car!

    The pubs were disappointing with an almost total lack of real ale. Very disappointed in the lack of locally produced goods to purchase and take away- cheese, honey, jam etc. Some nice cafes and snackbars. Could not find a bookshop. Transport by bus was good. Castle and museum were both good.

    Real community feel; the islanders were very welcoming and engaging. Bute is a lovely, accessible island with lovely scenery and beaches. we particularly enjoyed Mount Stuart House and Gardens and the wonderful food at Ettrick Bay Cafe.

    Rothesay (and the whole island) is very laid back and stress...

    Rothesay (and the whole island) is very laid back and stress-free. The place has a wonderful calm atmosphere, unlike other tourist spots, which needs to be experienced to believe. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Easy to get round island by bus or sightseeing bus. We loved Ettrick Bay and Kilchattan Bay.

    The breakfasts were fantastic and the staff very friendly and helpful. We had a great view from our room. The hotel was very clean. The room had recently been redecorated and was fresh and bright. Although we didn’t see any of the staff initially when we arrived, it was a relaxed place to come with our dog and I felt very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. Hot water and a good shower. The location was so central it was great.

    Inverbeg Cottage is a lovely, clean and comfortable house and has a lot to recommend it, not least of which are the glorious views from the property given its elevated position on the hillside overlooking Rothesay Bay and the Firth of Clyde beyond. We would however like to offer a word of advice to any new guests arriving by car for the first time.

    The location is great for the ferry and town centre, but still set in a quiet area. Apartments are comfortable, spacious and have great views of Rothesay Harbour. Kitchen surfaces, tables, bedding, bathroom shower/loo, towels etc are clean. Free street parking right outside guesthouse. Ive stayed here two years running and would happily go back.

    The owner at Cadillac Customz is a person you HAVE to meet when visiting Rothesay, and the hotel is an unmissable spot. We had filming crew staying at the hotel, whilst we were shooting on the island and they had the best time chatting to the owner and snoozing at this unique spot.

    A charming building with lot of history. We selected this hotel for his appearance so we were looking for the experience we got. The room was good size, clean, with a fantastic view over the sea. The bed was very confortable and we had no issues in fall asleep.
