We had an excellent breakfast at the hotel, included in the price of the room. There was a choice between continental, full English and dishes likes pancakes with maple syrup. We stayed in room 17, a deluxe (large) family room. The beds were very comfortable. A spacious and clean shower with perfect water pressure. Plenty of soft towels. Shampoo and shower gel were provided. The kids liked the huge tv. Besides coffee (Nespresso machine!) and tea facilities there were also 3 bottles of mineral water and glasses in the room, was a nice touch. Very friendly staff.

    Good choice of shops and restaurants. Good transport links if no car, i.e. regular buses for local trips or nearby towns including Hastings and Tunbridge and Railway Station (Hastings an hour away by train). Worth a visit to Museum and Art Gallery. Lovely parks including Calverley Park - easily accessible from town (walking) for a coffee or ice cream! Enjoy!!

    Our visit was far too short and have vowed to return soon! The Royal Spa Hotel proved to be a perfect place to stay. Spotless, spacious and very welcoming kind and helpful team. Delicious breakfast. The purpose of our trip was to attend the wonderful Anne Boleyn Musical at Hever Castle. A night to remember, and what an amazing part our history this castle has held.

    Vibrant town of 2 halves. Practical part and posh part. Plenty of places to eat from kebab to the Ivy with everything in between. Fab kitchen shop, spa, bandstand, live music events etc. It's quite hilly, so book in the centre of town if slopes aren't your thing.

    Plenty of great restaurants if you prefer dining outside of your hotel. Would recommend The Mallows, Pecorino, Smith and Western and The Ivy. All provided great food, warm friendly service and good atmosphere.

    The people we encountered in and around Tunbridge Wells were...

    The people we encountered in and around Tunbridge Wells were without exception very pleasant and helpful, There are very interesting parts of Tunbridge Wells, especially Mount Ephraim are and it is convenient for a number of National Trust properties and other attractions including vineyards. The cherries are sensational !! Only downside was the volume of traffic which was constant on main roads.

    I love Tunbridge Wells.

    I love Tunbridge Wells. I was born in Pembury. it is a lovely little village with loads of facilities. Lovely parks and the Black Horse pub/restaurant is superb for food. Can't wait to return. Always a lovely clean town and village.

    The hotel was a perfect base for our 3-day visit to historic sites near Royal Tunbridge Wells. Chartwell, Scotney Castle, Ingtham Mote, Bayham Abbey, Chiddingstone, and Hever Castle are all less than 30 minutes away by car. The breakfast was outstanding, and we also enjoyed a meal at the cozy restaurant and pub that is clearly well patronized by local residents, always a good sign. There was ample parking. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly.

    Good location, on the hill above but near to town centre and Pantiles. Good room facilities but no air-conditioning but a fan provided as it was how when we visited. The food was excellent - compliments to the chef for consistency and presentation. Good value for money, good attentive and friendly staff. Offers a much more enjoyable and relaxed stay than more expensive hotels we have stayed at around the world.

Of Tunbridge Wells Booking.com listed accommodation we have stayed in I rated it considerably better than the Travelodge, a big improvement on Salomons Estate, v slightly better than the Premier Inn, not as nice as the Spa Hotel.

    Stayed in annex, large room on 1st floor, well equipped, large bathroom, very clean & well presented. Large quiet room on the ground floor. Bar in main hotel well priced drinks. Good breakfast. Very well situated & free carpark, less than 5mins from town centre. Recommend for a short stay in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

    Hotel is beautifully located was checked in by AJ who was incredibly welcoming. My only suggestion would be a side lamp in the room next to the bed. That apart the hotel is wonderful. Will absolutely be back to stay again.
