A pretty market town that has great frequent cheap bus links into Cambridge. A lovely river with history pretty boat rides available. Golden Lion hotel and Amore Italian restaurant excellent food. We chose an 11 mile circular walk around St.
We chose an 11 mile circular walk around St. Ives, along the Ouse river and valley(s). The walk was great, stopping half way at the excellent Cock in Hemmingford Grey. St. Ives itself has plenty of history and St. Ives Bridge with the integrated Chapel is one of four of its kind in the country and the statue of Oliver Cromwell is prominent. St Ives is a lovely quiet calm town.
St Ives is a lovely quiet calm town. It has some great shops and a large market on a Monday morning. There is a Antique Market too which has some fantastic things to buy. It was nice to walk back and chat and felt like we had got home to crash out in a nice bed.
