Calder House Hotel looked to have great views out to sea with a fabulous beach. We experienced a tired run down establishment with a ‘couldn’t be bothered’ staff attitude. Dismissive and inattentive, we would never go back.

Great food in terms of quantity and quality, friendly and helpful staff, and a spacious room with a lovely view of the sea and beach. We travelled to various parts of Cumbria each day of our stay to make the most of the time we had there.

Nice small town, don't expect many shops or cafes/restaurants. The Seaside was very beautiful, easy to walk, with beautiful scenery, golden sand and big rocks. Keep in mind it looks like it's always windy there.

The property is on the seafront and although I was allocated a courtyard view room, I actually got a sea view, well worth it, thank you. Seascale is very quiet and was just what I was looking for, I had an amazingly relaxing holiday, just what the doctor ordered as my Mum would say, and great value for money for the basics needed.

I absolutely love where the hotel is. Waking up to sea is amazing. The decor and wooden structures are beautiful. The dining area is spacious and comfortable. The lady who brought us breakfast was lovely.
