The hotel is the best in the region, completely new and with a great design. Bar and restaurant services are also great. The staff solved all our needs (taxis, luggage storage, late check-out), and was also very kind and comprehensive; could not be better. I will definitely return.

    Location was fantastic, in the centre of town. Owners were fabulous - friendly, helpful, and flexible The cottage was beautiful - very clean, nicely furnished, all necessary kitchen appliances on hand, start up food items supplied by the owners without any request from ourselves and at no added cost. This included milk, butter, coffee, tea, milk, bread.

    Sherborne is my hometown, so I am biased!

    Sherborne is my hometown, so I am biased! It is a beautiful old town with the superb Sherborne Abbey in the centre. Plenty to do and see in and around Sherborne, a car is definitely needed to see other sites. The Three Wishes, at the bottom of Cheap Street, is a lovely restaurant with a very good menu.

    Sherborne is a vibrant village with many independent shops , gallery, antiques, bookshop, artisan and craft venues. A plethora of eating venues of all types. Beautiful old buildings ,some dating back to the 14c and beyond. Although small ,the area is stuffed with interest and a week or two is not too long for an interesting stay

    I was working there so didn't have much choice about where I was, but it's an historic town with a famous public school and abbey which dominates the town. Lots of very attractive historic buildings, but a slightly picture-book vib to the place with many tea shops and somewhat overpriced coffee. London is only two hours away by train (when the line is working properly), but it's another world (if you like that sort of thing).

    Easy to veg around , everything within a short walking distance, great little shops . Would have been nice if there were more reasonably priced eateries. A note to visitors , most shops not open on Mondays. Fish and chip shop near Abbey not open Monday and Tuesday . Check tourist attractions before travelling to ensure they will be open .

    Very impressed by the town and its facilities. The Abbey is superb. The Museum is very interesting and the staff are very infomative and helpful. Car parking is plentiful, impressive and reasonably priced..

    self catering. The location was quiet, peaceful, with lovely open countryside views from all windows. If the weather had been kind we would have enjoyed miles of lovely countryside walks, but sadly it rained. A lot. That said it was well placed for visits to Sherborne (for the castle) and Yeovil, for shopping etc. , and a thirty-five minute drive to Weymouth. Other close coastal locations were easily accessible from there.

    Very good location, around the corner from the beautiful Abbey. Clean, comfortable, with very nice decor and character throughout. Very friendly and helpful staff. Special mention for Megan, Tabby & the young man who was there when we arrived. Visits to The Abbey, Sherborne castle and Sherborne house are a must.
