I've being going to Shrewsbury over many years. I love the town. Lots of choice where to eat and plenty of old pubs to try. Alot of the old independent shops, have gone similar to many other town centres. A sad result of how people want to shop. Shrewsbury was much nicer better than I was expecting, with many historic buildings, some excellent shops restaurants and bars and very scenic areas along the river. Very clean well maintained historical city with loads to do and plenty of old buildings to see. Huge expense of shopping outlets and a wonderful indoor market with an array of stalls selling fresh cheeses, fresh meat, worldwide foods, veggies, bags, clothes, wines and eating places/cafes. An old-fashioned kind of place with small shops but also with modern touches and plenty of diverse eating places . Lots of pedestrianised areas . The river winds through the town and there are really good riverside walks/cycle paths and green , tree'd areas and many cobbled streets plus historic buildings and places of interest . The Severn Theatre - by the river , by the 'Welsh Bridge ' - is worth a visit . The market hall has everything you could possibly want for gifts or just living.
