We had a warm welcome from the friendly staff at the Black Horse. We enjoyed staying in an authentic English pub, which had a lot of character and a great atmosphere. The Indian restaurant is delicious and the fridge in our room was stocked with milk, cereal, fruit and biscuits for breakfast. The room itself was peaceful and decorated in a shabby-chic style with a comfy bed. It was nice to have the window open and listen to the birds singing outside, and no traffic noise. On our second night there was a great live band, which was a lot of fun. Nearby there's a small café and it's very close to the Tyndall monument, which we had a view of from our room.

As such a cosy and perfect set up for our family (2 adults and 2 children) in a beautiful area so close to Stroud. The beds were so comfy, the heating perfect and lovely touches like fresh muffins, cereal, bread and fresh jams! So easy to liaise with the owners who were just lovely.

Christmas Cottage was in a very quiet village with local shops and pub just a short walk away. This is easily the best accommodation I have stayed in for years and we work away every week up and down the country. If you have the chance ( because I believe this cottage will be booked well in advance) just book it you will not be disappointed

    Well worth visiting the Wetlands Centre, the weather wasn't...

    Well worth visiting the Wetlands Centre, the weather wasn't brilliant but still a fun day out. Saw lots of different birds. Will go back again another time of the year to see others and explore the rest of the site. We couldn't see it all in one day. Good location for visiting the Cotswolds generally.
