They did an extra effort to make it extra Christmassy for the children: a bag of sweets for them in the room, a naughty elf hidden in the lobby, a huge Christmas tree…. This has been the perfect stop-over on our way back to the family for years.

i loved staying at this fascinating hotel it oozes history and is situated on the high street a few minutes from the station the area was very busy with visitors and when the evening came the pubs and restaurants were very vibrant the hotel is so conveniant i was back just a few minutes after my night out

We want to thank the fantastic staff. They really went the extra mile in letting us feel welcome. We arrived late to the breakfast but the staff was all willing to help us out and made us a nice English breakfast on a plate. We overlooked the lake which was very pretty, also being this side shielded us from motorway noise. Staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was very good.
