It is a small town with several individual shops. The panier market is lively and worth a visit for a variety of local produce and goods. I came here specifically to visit a local wool shop. So if you're a passionate knitter, I highly recommend a visit to John Arbon Textiles. When you're here, take a side trip up to Lynton/Lynmouth or probably any other seaside village that appeals in the area. South Molton felt very safe, quiet and friendly.
